Watching Him Sleep...

As a Mama to a busy toddler, there are days where I want to check out. I want to go to my room, shut (and lock) the door, stick my fingers in my ears and go, "lalala I CAN'T HEAR YOU LALALALA!".

On the days that are particularly stressful or busy, I'm eager for Bubbalu's bedtime, eager for a break, and eager for some peace and quiet.

But.

Only a hour or two goes by, and I'm missing him. I just NEED to see him again. I tiptoe quietly into his room and just watch him sleep. Hey, it's about the only time that I can actually study his face because he's actually still.

I love my Bubbalu...

  1. Ahh, a baby sleeping...so peaceful. It's 8:45 and mine just went down after screams and tears...he's been fighting bed time and it makes me crazy! It's just a phases...mantra of the year!

  2. Love the song! Wish I was motivated enough to add music to my blog!

I totally know how you feel about wanting to shut yourself in your room somedays! And I also love to sneak in and see my sweeties when they're sleeping. My son sleeps like a brick, so I can actually caress his sweet face. Mia's still too little, so I usually hold my breathe and stare from afar for fear of waking her up!!

Thanks for visiting my blog! I'm adding you to my favorites, so I'll check back soon.

  4. We all have those days!

But seeing them a sleep is definitely one of the most precious sights ever. It makes you realize that even those rough times are so worth it!

    Thanks for visiting mine!

  6. I'm the same way- I can't wait for him to get to sleep, but I have to still look into that face and kiss those lips!

  7. I know exactly what you mean. There are some days when I am just so ready for Allie's bed time. Then an hour or two later, I sneak into her room and lay in her twin bed with her. Beautiful post!

  8. How funny! I totally do the same thing. Ok, not so much these days. But I know the feeling.
